The Power to Change

Hello new friends!! I am so happy to be here today and am honored to
be able to meet you all. I am also honored to be writing this guest post for
Alli. My name is Abby, and I blog over at Pink Lemonade. On my blog, I write
about life as a wife, fashion, new trends, things I LOVE, and interesting
highlights that happen in my life. I’m just living life sipping Pink Lemonade
and I would love it if you would stop by and have a glass with me!

Today I want to write about something that I am very
passionate about and hope you are as well. If not then maybe after reading this
you will feel like you have the power as well.

When I was growing up I thought I had the power to change
anything. I felt that I had the power to cure hunger, put a roof over
everyone’s head and give the world peace. I was always trying to help people in
need. When I was about seven or eight I started a fundraiser in our church to
help the missionaries that our church supported. Even though the fundraiser was
just collecting extra change I do believe that the church gave close to one hundred
dollars. When the fundraiser was over, we sent the money to the missionaries and
the feeling of being able to help them was an overwhelming joy in my heart.

The older I got the more I realized that the work I was
doing probably would never cure hunger around the world or give the world
peace. This realization discouraged me for quite a while. But then I realized I
have the power to change the things that I can. We all have the power to change…

We have the power to change ourselves
We have the power to change our relationships
We have the power to help others, right in our own backyard
We have the power to LOVE each other
We have the power to change our attitude about life
We have the power to be a part of something BIG
We have the power to forgive others

As one person I cannot
change the world, but I can change the world of one person. – Paul Shane Spear

We have the power to do much more than we think. When we use
the power that God gave us to change and help others that person will help the
next person and so on. When you think that you cannot make a change in this
world, just think how much change you could make by simply changing your
attitude toward the next person you come in contact with.

I
hope that you have a wonderful weekend and remember you have the POWER to make change
happen!
