This is not a metaphorical title, I'm REALLY learning to ride a bike again! I hadn't ridden a bike in almost 10 years, but on Monday, I started riding 3 miles to and from school. Why? Because I'm too cheap to pay $600 a year or $8 a day to park. The good news? I'm getting in shape! Three miles is a serious cardio workout for me, especially because on the way there, there's an incline, so I have to work a bit harder. This biking, though, has not worked out so splendidly yet. I've fallen against almost everything imaginable and my body aches! Every day this week, I have had some sort of issue, from fainting after the ride in to falling hard to hitting a wall (literally). I made it in to campus with no issues today, so hopefully I'll have a day without injury today! My butt is going to thank me for the three day weekend, though!
You know what's better than the success you feel when you finish a three mile bike ride without injury?? Meeting new, lovely bloggers! These six lovely ladies have graced my sidebar this month and I'm so happy that I got to know each of them a little better!
Hello Ladies, my name is Breanna and I blog over at My Beautiful, Crazy Life. I am a junior in college majoring in Human Nutrition, although I am a complete food junkie. I am saved by God's grace and for that I am eternally grateful, which is why I strive to live each day for His Glory. I also have a love for creating beautiful things and capturing life's little moments. Speaking of creating beautiful things, I will be opening an etsy shop this month that will be stocked with hair accessories, headbands, and jewelry! If you head on over to my blog you'll find a hodge podge of topics ranging from fashion to daily encounters in my life. I hope you'll stop on by !
Hey there! I’m Sarah, and I started From Elizabeth, With Love earlier this summer as a way to stay inspired, spark creativity, and meet other bloggers! I don’t have a cute kid to brag about, amazing recipes to share, or designer clothes to show off. I’m just a 21-year-old college senior who loves a crazy night out with friends, sharing a funny story (usually at my own expense), finding great bargains, and discovering life out on my own as I prepare to move into my first place next month.

Did you do anything fun for your summer vacation?
We did :) Eric, his parents, and I roadtripped up to North Carolina, so that I could meet Eric's Great-Grandmother :) It was such a great trip!

Hi, I'm Tricia and I blog at Mama Marchand’s Nest. I love Jesus, the hubs, my sweet little girl, designing jewelry, tweeting, reading, traveling, yoga, coffee, and cupcakes. My bloggy nest is a collection of thoughts about the challenges and blessings of mamahood, marriage, faith, friendship, health, fashion, and everything in between. My Etsy shop, Mama’s Nest Designs, features eclectic handcrafted new and upcycled jewelry.
If you could do anything you wanted for a day, what would you do?
I'd start the day with a yoga session and then spend some time at my favorite spa, getting a massage and a mani/pedi. Then, I'd eat lunch at my favorite restaurant and do some retail therapy in the afternoon. I'd find a Starbucks and spend some time reading my current book while sipping a caramel iced latte. I'd end the day at the Melting Pot, indulging in some yummy fondue. I'd miss my hubs and little girl the whole day, though!

Born and raised in central PA, I don’t have the glamorous life of a city dweller, nor do I have the quaint and simple country life; I’m straight out of the suburbs. But over the past few years I’ve had opportunities to travel both throughout the US and abroad, as well as experience all that college life has to offer, and I love talking about all my amazing and wild adventures! Finding joy in the little things in life is so important to me, and I hope that through blogging I can connect with others who can always find a reason to smile.
Did you do anything fun for your summer vacation?
This summer I went with my family to Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, where I geeked out shamelessly at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We then boarded the Disney Dream cruise ship, where I ran my first 5k, met John Stamos (!!!), and got my tan on. Did I mention my mom got hospitalized right in the middle of all of this? You can read all about my crazy vacation here!

If you could do anything you wanted for a day, what would you do?
My ideal day would include sleeping in a fancy hotel and waking up to breakfast in bed. Then, I'd head to a spa to get a nice massage and a pedicure. Afterwards, I'd grab lunch at Panera and spend the rest of my day shopping at the Mall of America.

Did you do anything fun for your summer vacation?
I mainly stayed around home this summer, but was able to visit with many friends. I don't mind that I didn't go off for vacation because I would have been talking and hanging out with friends anyone.

Ummm….Let me think for a second. Ok I have it, I would want to be Tori Spelling’s BFF for the day. Her life looks like so much fun and I would really like to see what her life is really like.

Good luck with the biking! 6 miles a day is a lot, but doable, and you'll be in good shape by the end of the year, along with saving a lot of money! I always think it would be so cool to bike places, but I live out in the boondocks....the closest place to go would be a gas station....and that would be a 3 mile ride down a 55 mph highway with no sidewalk...and I'm just not up for that type of exciting biking! Besides, if you're riding a bike, you don't need to go to the gas station. :P
ReplyDeleteHoly man Alli, be careful! It's got to get easier with practice, right?
ReplyDeleteI haven't biked in years, I was thinking about taking it up again... hopefully I won't get hurt as much... I do however; think my butt would be happy with me in the long run. Good luck with the biking, I hope it gets easier:)
