Learning to Say No

Ready to start another week?? I'm not really, but if I make it through this week, I have a whole week of working from home! Spring Break is not really as much of a break for those of us working stiffs, but I don't have to drive to campus to teach all week, so I can grade from the comfort of my couch (or bed or cushy office chair, whatever I feel like!) I can also wake up at any time I want!!! No 6 am alarm for me... But maybe I should stop thinking about that super awesome week and get through this one first :)

I think I've touched on the subject before but I am a serious yes person! Sometimes, we're not even sure "no" is in my vocabulary... But I'm starting to really feel overwhelmed and, with my health issues, I really have had to take a step back from taking on everything at once. I have my to-do list which I'm slowly but surely checking off, but it still seems daunting. So last week, when my friend told me something her professor had told me, I jumped on the chance to use it as a mantra:

So this, ladies, is what I've been living by for the past half a week. It seems to be helping already, but I still have a lot of work to do.

Are you a "yes" person? How do you say "no"?

  1. I love this! I'm a total yes person too, and often end up overwhelming myself!
